I got to wear my designer/creator hat quite a bit this week, and it’s been a lot of fun.

On Monday we sent out our office’s monthly newsletter, which I spent some time reformatting at the beginning of a new year to help us continue telling the stories of our students and our work effectively and succinctly (no small task when there’s so much good and inspiring news to share!)—while also looking beautiful and being a pleasure to read. On Tuesday I spent the evening redesigning our branding for the “houses” we have for students in our flagship Vardaman Scholars program. This was a ton of fun—I went into a flow state making them. (Shoutout to Chris Spooner/Spoon Graphics for the awesome Photoshop filter.)

Wednesday we hung up the last few profiles we could for our “wall of fame” celebrating the many historic Baylor students and alumni who have won major fellowships. This has been a tireless effort over many months, and seeing it come to fruition on our wall has been so rewarding and exciting. We’re already out of space on our first wall!

Yesterday was some personal creating—I shot some photos of my friend JB’s band Uptown Swing at their monthly gig at Pinewood Pub. Jazz, beer, an IRL event—what’s not to love?

And today, I’m hoping to finally wrap up a template slide deck I started on months ago to help make our office’s brand and storytelling assets match the caliber, scale, and inspiration of our work as we continue sharing that with partners around campus, current and prospective students, and many more.

Not every week is this creative, but when one is, it’s a lot of fun!
